Bananatex® is a fabric made from Abacá, a species of banana plant grown in the Philippines. Abacá grows without pesticides, fertilisers or extra irrigation, as part of a natural forestry system that helps restore land rather than deplete it. Its long, strong fibres have been used for centuries in rope and paper, and are now woven into textiles.
Our Bananatex bedding blends 50% Bananatex® with 50% organic cotton. The cotton brings softness, while the Abacá fibre adds strength, breathability and a dry, natural texture that keeps the bed feeling fresh through the night. The collection includes duvet covers and pillowcases by lavie.
